Happy Birthday America!

Writer: VictoriaVictoria

Today is Rosalynn's first 4th of July! We got KFC and our picnic blanket, and headed for the beach. We found a nice picnic table between a set of trees and had dinner. Afterwards, my husband played hide and seek with our 6 year old, and swung our 9 month old around in her car seat (she loves that, it's like a carnavle ride for her!). We then packed up and headed down to the actual beach. We set out the blanket, playe din the sand, and we had about half an hour before sunset when the Cleveland fireworks would go off. Except we wouldn't be able to see them... being too far away... and there was a hillside in between.... And right at sunset, the park rangers began kicking people out. Aparently, they weren't staying open tonight. So we headed home.

Disappointed that my baby's first 4th of July was a bust, my husband began saying all the fun things we did (and reminding me that the baby won't even remember this night). Once we pulled into the driveway, our city began its fireworks display. They were set off about a mile from our house, so we didn't even have to go anywhere! They were smaller privately set off displays as well that we could see.

So, it my baby's first 4th of july turned out to be pretty good after all! And it really proves that what you do isn't as important as who you're with.
