Project Gallery
Welcome to my craft studio! These are projects that I have done either for someone, or just because. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them.

I can't believe I DID THAT!!

I used an Itty Bitty canvas to try out the image. I drew it on with pencil before painting.

In the new home. They are going to get hooks and wire to properly hang this up. Near it on a tiny easel is the Itty Bitty mock up I did. They look nice together, but the larger is the better of the two (imo).

Go Broncos!
I was commissioned to create a Broncos painting for my brother; it was his Christmas present from his wife. What you see here are the many steps I took to complete the painting. Although I still see areas I would like to go back and re-do or touch up, I am very pleased with how it turned out. I have never done anything like this before. I usually do very small paintings, so doing one this size was breaking out of my comfort zone. But once it was done, I am excited to do another!

One for Rosalynn, and one for Annabelle.

For my Uncle and Aunt's anniversary 2015. Each wine glass has an initial for their names.

I made peppermint bark and put it in the jar I painted. Finished it off with a bow around the top. It was given to my daughter's teacher at the class party.

Glass Painting
I have been wanting to try painting on glass, and since I have several glass fronts for picture frames laying around, I thought I would try making something like stained glass pictures. I've made 4 window pieces and 4 (decent) baby jars with pictures on them (I have dozens of baby food jars knowing there's something I can do with them). There are a number of ways to do this, but I am going to stick to my way.
I use a black (or white) paint pen for the outline. This does not give a leaded look which is fine by me, that's not the look I'm going for. I like the idea of a painting you can see through, and captures light coming in through the frame (if hung in a window). But if it's hung on the wall, it still looks good (and different from traditional paintings).
The images I select are specific for the person I am making the piece for, and must give off a certain look. It takes me a couple of hours jut to figure out how I want it to look before I print out the images. I am finding that floating frames are absolutely perfect for this type of project, but it can get pricey. My latest projects using these frames were on sale at Joann's, so it was like buy 2 get one free. My earlier projects I used cheap frames from WalMart, removed the backs, and replaced with the painted glass.

Filled with candy and topped with fabric.

Stork, bottle and bear, hatching turtle.

It's all about the baby, so mom isn't filled in.

Baby Shower Jars
In anticipation of an upcoming baby shower, I created these party favors from baby food jars I had been collecting. I used a stamp to print an image of a bear and bottle on the jars, then I traced the image with a black paint pen. Once dried, I filled in the picture with white and pink - she's having a girl. On other jars, I cut a piece of scrapbook paper and taped it on the inside. Then I traced the image with the black paint pen, and filled in with pink and white. For the last set of jars, I wanted something really cute and animal themed (she works at an aquarium, and her shower is at the zoo). A hatching turtle is pretty darn cute! The last jar is being used in a game of "guess how many diaper pins there are". I couldn't decide between elephants or giraffes, so I used both, one on each side of the jar. The cut fabric is held on with clear Bandz. The candy inside is baby rattles, duckies, and fish (the people attending the shower are from the aquarium).

Not really part of the "Pacific Island tattoo design" collection, but i wanted to show them here. Two of these were places in an auction with a wine bottle. I still have 2 for sale. The seahorse was part of the auction pice, and I created another one filled with chocolate hearts for a Mother's Day present for my sister-in-law.

This tattoo design had the two images as one image. I separated them and put each animal on opposing sides of the glass. When viewed from the front, you still see the circle they make together.

This is a nice pari sold together. Each has its own differences such as the tip of the tails. Curling in opposite directions of each other, down the stems of the glasses to the top of the bases. Also done in white rather than black to emphasize their grace and beauty.

"Pacific Island tattoo design" Collection
So I've taken my glass painting to a new place. I began painting on wine glasses! And other such drinkware. It's fun but challenging. I have a board on Pintrest with island tattoo designs that I think would make wonderful glassware images. A certain style that I have called "Pacific Island tattoo design" and made a collection out of it. It features sharks and rays so far. My tribute to the beautiful creatures and the cultures that have always respected them. I have 4 sets for sale in my Etsy shop:
